The documentary is about an Orthodox Jewish man who attempts to reintegrate in a strict community after becoming involved with criminals and spending time in prison. It’s great for seeing day to day life in an Orthodox Jewish community in Britain, but isn’t essential to the module so don’t worry if you don’t have time.

A fully-resourced, detailed and differentiated 1 hour - 90 min lesson which investigates the concept of cultural appropriation and why it can be offensive. Students will explore recent instances in the media of celebrities who have been accused of cultural appropriation and the origin of the term as well as its links to the concept of privilege. This lesson is great for PSHE (investigating bigoted behaviour) or for Citizenship, or even as an interesting one off for RE. The lesson is most suitable or KS4 / KS5 (but there is nothing unsuitable for KS3) and is editable, so easy to adapt for your own planning. The lesson includes a detailed PowerPoint, information sheets, differentiated activity worksheets, differentiated challenge activities and clips tasks with questions and a literacy / debate focus task. A one hour religious education lesson on Islamic views on family, children, marriage and divorce. This was used for GCSE RS Thematic Studies AQA (9-1) Theme A (but is editable for other exam boards or KS3). It is fully adaptable and includes essay preparation, quote analysis tasks, a variety of activities, a 12 mark practice question, clips and questions and is fully differentiated (to three levels throughout). It also includes a Christian viewpoints sheet to help with the religious comparisons mock exam question. This pack includes a PowerPoint, worksheets, clips, all well differentiated. A lesson on the origins of Christmas and how it has evolved from the Pagan Yuletide to the Christian Christmas we know today. This pack includes a one hour, fully resourced lesson with PowerPoint, worksheets, clip tasks, activities, all differentiated three ways and editable. The lesson is easy to follow and fully differentiated. It could be used in RE, History or possibly Citizenship. It is created as a fun, one off lesson suitable for as the end of term is nearing and is suitable for KS3 or KS4. 1 hour, fully resourced lesson which provides an overview and introduction to the Iluminati, investigating whether it is a real alternative religious movement or a conspiracy theory. Students always ask to learn about the Illuminati and I’ve never had an excuse to make a lesson on it until I made this alternative religions and new movements unit - so here it is! This lesson is the sixth in my ‘Alternative Religions and New Movements’ Unit - originally created for year 9, but easily amended for any KS3 / KS4 group. The lesson can easily be used in isolation, however. The lesson has been left editable and is filled with engaging, well differentiated and fun activities.
